AspenX Mountain Club
The AspenX Mountain Club is a members-only luxury club and event venue located at the top of Aspen Mountain. Construction included a complete renovation of the reception area, lounge, main dining room, wine room, living room, boot room, game room, bar, locker rooms, and restrooms. Shaw’s scope included gutting the club space down to the studs, re-wiring and re-plumbing the building, modifying the entry for an exposed gable, and adding the game room and boot room. This project required significant logistical planning due to location and weather and was completed on time and budget.
The approach to the design included implementing complementary color schemes and textures and using natural and renewably sourced materials. The new space incorporates a modern design from Spanish sculptor and designer, Luis Bustamante. Luxury features include exported millwork from a Spanish-based carpentry company, renewably sourced oak, and a ski boot heating station.
