The Aspen Police Department project included a new, 27,000-sf headquarters with office spaces, meeting rooms, a kitchen and break room, private interview rooms, employee locker rooms, a weight room, and a state-of-the-art evidence storage facility. Employees and visitors are greeted with an open-concept lobby. The building was constructed on an irregular site with a large slant, requiring extensive earthwork and preconstruction efforts. The cast-in-place underground parking lot faces north, while the building is justified against a brick wall allowing maximum natural light to pour into the building. This project has LEED Gold certification and was built to WELL Building Silver Certification.
