Aspen, Colorado
The Bucksbaum Campus is home to the K-8 Aspen Country Day School (ACDS) and practice facilities for the Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS). This two-phase project included the construction of two bridges, eleven new buildings, and a remodel of the existing historic administrative building. One building is a large rehearsal hall with advanced acoustic systems for the world-renowned AMFS. Additional buildings include a gymnasium that converts into a rehearsal hall, classrooms, a new administration facility, maintenance buildings, and a full kitchen and cafeteria for students. During the school year, the property is occupied by ACDS, while AMFS takes over the space during the summer. The site required extensive earthwork and infrastructure due to substantial groundwater and existing ponds that were preserved to be a part of the campus.
